Erin has been teaching yoga since 1980. She certified in classical relaxation-based yoga from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. As well as Vinyasa Yoga from the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara.
She has continued her studies with teachers as Rod Stryker, Shiva Rea, and Saul David Raye. Her studies in the Feldenkrais Method™ inform her method of somatic-based teaching. After 30 years of teaching yoga, Erin has observed her teaching style change with maturity and personal growth.
Erin now teaches a slow, graceful, Vinyasa Flow with attention to the Ujjai Breath. She uses creative sequencing, pulsation vinyasas, undulations, and micromovements, unusual movements not common in regular yoga classes.
It is a moving meditation. A way of developing what the Bhagavad Gita describes as “skill in action”, by releasing tension surrounding action, finding your internal center and observing the attitudes and ideas you bring to the asanas. Experiencing the space where you are absorbed with the process rather than the results of your action.
Yoga is the most direct and effective way of dissolving physical hardness in the body. These postures and stretches are simple, accessible and open to anyone at any level, regardless of height, weight, or age. No matter where you are in your physical and mental development, this class is possible.
By disarming the ego and dropping into the realm of pure feeling, you will promote deeper states of relaxation.
